Style of Therapy
Anti-Oppressive
Having worked within oppressive systems that often require folx to show up in certain ways in order to get what they need, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe to show up wholly and fully as yourself – where you don’t feel the need to hide parts of your identity out of fear of not being accepted as you are.
Collaborative
My place is alongside you, where I can support you in your journey – not tell you how you are wrong or what you need to do, but help you notice things that you may not have initially seen or considered. I value self-determination, meaning your voice matters the most and you ultimately get to decide what’s best for you.
Strengths-based
While it is easy to focus on our flaws and tell ourselves what we can’t do, it can be difficult to recognize the opportunities we do have to disrupt unwanted patterns. My approach is strengths-based, with the intent of empowering you to identify and tap into your own gifts, skills, and resources to implement change in ways that are sustainable for you.
Solution-Oriented
My hope is to offer you tools, strategies, and resources that provide immediate and tangible solutions – whether we are dealing with big complicated crises, deep-rooted trauma (and accompanying trauma responses), or the seemingly small things that irritate you.
